I recently enjoyed a stay at Pensión Irune in the vibrant Old Town of San Sebastián, nestled between two fabulous beaches. The location is unbeatable-everything from stunning tapas bars to the local aquarium is just a short walk away, and the cultural highlights like the Victoria Eugenia Theatre and San Telmo Museum are easily reachable. My room was bright, clean, and simple, with large windows that let in lovely natural light; the private bathroom was immaculate as well. One charming quirk to note is the lively atmosphere of the old town, particularly on weekends; while I loved the energy, don't forget to pack earplugs for those late nights! The owners were very attentive-after I reached out about toilet paper, the host promptly delivered it right to my room. For nature lovers like me, this central base was perfect for exploring the North Sea's nearby ecosystems while also indulging in the local cuisine. I highly recommend this cozy guesthouse for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the Basque spirit while enjoying warm hospitality!
